where can you get the freshest ice cream handcrafted to order right in front of you and get to see it get frozen with nitrogen? At Creamistry of course, the newest ice cream shop in The Colony.
All the ice cream at Creamistry is made fresh to order. First you chose from one of the four different bases. The signature premium base is the creamiest and most decadent. If you prefer organic, they have that, if you want non-dairy you can choose from the vegan coconut or non-dairy sorbet. Next you choose one of the 30-plus flavors and then toppings from a list of 35-plus options that include candy, cookies, cereal, fruits and sauces. Then comes the most fun part, the mixture is rapidly frozen using liquid nitrogen at -321 degrees.

It looks like a science experiment with smoke flowing out of the bowl. What happens when the nitrogen hits the base is that it freezes so fast that ice crystals don’t have a chance to develop resulting in a really rich and creamy treat.
when asked what was his favorite is, Owner Chirag Patel said, “right now I really like the Captain’s Breakfast” which is one of the creations on the specialties menu. It is made with Vanilla ice cream with Captain Crunch cereal, mixed in with fresh strawberries, bananas and chocolate sauce.

Patel and his family are excited to open their first shop here in The Colony, he said they chose this location because they want to be in an area where there are a lot families with young kids that go out and do things together. Patel said for him, starting a business is all about making relationships with people and he is looking forward to being a part of the community.
The GRAND OPENING is this Saturday, July 7. The doors open at 12:00 noon and they will be giving away FREE ice cream from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Plus the first 50 paying customers will receive a bonus goodie item with their purchase.
Creamistry has three sizes of ice cream cups. Additionally, you have the choice of putting your ice cream in a waffle bowl, brownie bowl or chocolate bowl. Other specialties and extras include ice cream sandwiches, the nitrofloat (a rootbeer float), nitroshake and the affogato, which is expresso poured over Vanilla Bean ice cream and topped with whipped cream and chocolate curls.
Creamistry is open Sunday – Thursday from 12:00 noon until 10:00 p.m. and until 11:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. They are located at 5733 Hwy 121, Suite 285 (next door to Abuelo’s Mexican Restaurant).
